R. K. (Bob) Dixon

Bob Dixon is a partner with Forward Energy Group Inc., involved in Forward’s consulting activities since March, 2001.  Bob is a professional engineer and MBA with over 30 years of experience in management, consulting and technical positions in the petroleum and other industries.

Bob is a major contributor to the formulation and delivery of Forward Energy’s suite of client focused consulting services, including comprehensive research on gas supply trends, sources of supply, unconventional resources (tight gas, CBM) and operator strategies in the Western Canadian Basin.  Bob’s strong understanding of processes is demonstrated by his proficiency in leadership and facilitation.  With his superior technical modeling skills in economics, financial and process areas, Bob brings a refreshing breadth of experience and a rare blend of detail and big picture analysis.  Bob is an active contributor of timely presentations to various industry groups. 

Prior to joining Forward Energy, Bob was a senior manager in the oil and gas consulting group with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.  He designed and conducted upstream oil and gas benchmarking and best practices studies.  As well, during his seven years with CGEY, he led numerous engagements in supplier management and process improvement.  With his solid experience in many regions of the world including Western Canada, Mexico, Australia, SE Asia, Alaska, continental USA, Egypt and others, Bob provides well-rounded international insights.

Earlier in his career, Bob was engaged with Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas, Dome Petroleum and Amerada Hess Canada in a series of progressive petroleum engineering related roles.  Bob’s years of upstream engineering practice ranged from drilling services through reservoir management to transportation in both gas and oil.

Bob holds a degree in engineering and an advanced degree in management.  He is a Professional Engineer in Alberta (member of APEGGA), a member of the Petroleum Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).  He is also an active volunteer in the Canadian Society for Unconventional Gas (CSUG).
